Spike Lee Joint Collection "Spike Lee Joint Collection" contains "Clockers," "Jungle Fever," "Do The Right Thing," "Mo' Better Blues" and "Crooklyn." "Clockers" - A "clocker" is a 24-hour drug dealer, and Strike (Mekhi Phifer) is the hardest-working one on the streets. But for Strike, time is running out. When the local drug kingpin (Delroy Lindo) tips Strike off about an opportunity for advancement, a rival dealer ends up dead, and Strike suddenly finds himself caught between two homicide detectives. One is Mazilli (John Turturro), who's only looking for an easy bust. The other is Rocco (Harvey Keitel), who's looking for something much harder to find - the truth - and when Strike's law-abiding brother confesses to the murder, Rocco vows not to rest until he's sure the real shooter is behind bars. Director Spike Lee, producer Martin Scorsese and writer Richard Price, along with music by Seal, Marc Dorsey, Des'ree and Chaka Khan, deliver a film so riveting, you'll feel it grab you by the collar and toss you into the middle of an urban battlefield, prompting Jeffrey Lyons of Sneak Previews to call it "One of 1995's most powerful films." "Jungle Fever" - This critically acclaimed film from Spike Lee explores the provocative consequences of interracial relationships. Wesley Snipes portrays Flipper Purify, a black architect who begins an affair with Angie Tucci (Annabella Sciorra), his working class Italian secretary. Their relationship causes them to be scrutinized by their friends, cast out from their families and shunned by their neighbors in this moving view of inner-city life. Featuring a chart-topping original soundtrack by Stevie Wonder, "Jungle Fever" stars a talented cast including Spike Lee, Ossie Davis, Rudy Dee, Samuel L. Jackson, Lonette McKee, John Torturro and two time Academy Award-winner Anthony Quinn.
John Wayne Gift Set "El Dorado" - Legendary producer-director Howard Hawks teams with two equally legendary stars, John Wayne and Robert Mitchum, in this classic Western drama. Mitchum plays to perfection an alcoholic but gutsy sheriff who relentlessly battles the dark side of the wild West, ruthless cattle barons and crooked "businessmen." The Duke gives an equally adept performance as the sheriff's old friend who knows his way around a gunfight. Filled with brawling action and humor, "El Dorado" delivers the goods. James Caan and Ed Asner co-star. "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" - Ranking with Stagecoach as one of the greatest of its genre, "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" is the modern-day Western to beat all Westerns. John Ford, whose very name is synonymous with "Westerns," directed the ideal cast. Jimmy Stewart plays the bungling but charming big-city lawyer determined to rid the fair village of Shinbone of its number one nuisance and Bad Man: Liberty Valance (Lee Marvin). And as if all that weren't enough, the biggest star that ever aimed a six-shooter plays the Man of the title: John Wayne. Super-sincere Stewart and rugged rancher Wayne also share the same love interest (Vera Miles). One gets the gunman but the other gets the gal. "The Shootist" - Afflicted with a terminal illness, John Bernard Brooks (John Wayne), the last of the legendary gunfighters, quietly returns to Carson City for medical attention from his old friend Dr. Hostetler (James Stewart). Aware that his days are numbered, the troubled man seeks solace and peace in a boarding house run by a widow (Lauren Bacall) and her son (Ron Howard). However, it is not Brook's fate to die in peace, as he becomes embroiled in one last valiant battle. "The Sons Of Katie Elder" - Katie Elder bore four sons. The day she is buried they all return home to Clearwater, Texas, to pay their last respects. John Wayne is the eldest and toughest son, the gunslinger.
John 'Babbacombe' Lee - John Henry George Lee, better known as John 'Babbacombe' Lee, (1864 - 1941?) survived three attempted judicial executions in England and is known as the man they couldn't hang. John Lee (pathologist) - John Andre Lee is an English consultant histopathologist at Rotherham General Hospital and clinical professor of pathology at Hull York Medical School. Lee gained his medical degree, a BSc. John Lee (astronomer) - John Lee LL.D (28 April 1783-25 February 1866), born John Fiott, was an English philanthropist, astronomer, mathematician, antiquarian and barrister. John Lee Richmond - John Lee Richmond (or simply Lee Richmond) (born May 5 1857 in Sheffield, Ohio - died October 1 1929 in Toledo, Ohio) pitched the first perfect game in major league baseball history. He played for the Worcester, Massachusetts Worcesters (no nickname).
